We are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Sr. Senada Delic, the wife of our dear brother and friend Imam Zijad Delic. As many of you know, Imam Zijad has done multiple khutbahs, lectures and workshops at IIT, most recently in October for Islamic History Month. I (Br. Farhad, chair of the IIT) spoke to him earlier this morning and expressed our condolences and Duas for her forgiveness and mercy. May Allah grant her a lofty place in Jannah.

My dear wife and trusted friend Dr. Senada Delic – mother of our two daughters Lejla and Emina, grandmother of Zayn and mother-in-law of Sinan, sister of Senad, Seid and Sedina – passed away peacefully in Istanbul yesterday, on January 19th, 2025, as we were returning to our home in Ottawa, Canada!
Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un!
It is with a very heavy and sad heart that we share this sad news with you all and ask all of you, dear brothers and sisters, to pray for her that Allah rewards her for all good deeds (and she did many good deeds), forgives her for any shortcomings and grants her the Gardens of Jannah!
I and our girls and all family members are still processing what has happened yesterday and I ask you all to pray for us that Allah gives us beautiful Sabr!
I already miss “My Seni” (as I used to call her out of love…a great and successful women behind many of my successes)!!!
May Allah join us in Paradise! Allahumma Amin!
