Welcome to the *163rd IIT Scouts Group*, one of Canada’s leading Muslim Scouting groups and a vibrant youth leadership community based at the Islamic Institute of Toronto.

For nearly two decades, we have been providing young people ages *5 to 26* with opportunities to grow in character, faith, leadership, citizenship, and outdoor skills through the adventure and challenge of Scouting. Our program combines hands-on learning, outdoor experiences, community service, and youth-led leadership development in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

At the 163rd IIT Scouts Group, young people are empowered to learn by doing, lead by example, and serve their communities. Through meaningful experiences and progressive leadership opportunities, our members develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong commitment to service.

Our youth participate in a wide range of exciting activities throughout the year, including:

– Weekend and multi-day camping adventures
– Backcountry and wilderness hiking
– Canoeing and canoe camping expeditions
– One-week wilderness canoe expeditions at *Haliburton Scout Reserve*
– Winter camping and outdoor survival skills
– Rock climbing, archery, and challenge courses
– Campfire cooking and campcraft
– First Aid and emergency preparedness training
– Leadership development and mentorship programs
– Environmental conservation initiatives
– Community service and volunteer projects
– Cultural celebrations and family events
– Regional, Provincial, National, and International Scout Jamborees

Over the years, our members have represented Canada and Scouting at national and international events, including *World Scout Jamborees*, Canadian Jamborees, regional Scout camps, leadership conferences, Model United Nations programs, youth forums, and international cultural exchanges. These experiences have allowed our youth to build friendships with Scouts from around the world while developing a global perspective and lifelong memories.

The 163rd IIT Scouts Group has a proud history of youth achievement. Our youth members have earned some of the highest recognitions in Scouting, including the *North Star Award, **Seeonee Award, **Chief Scout’s Award, **King’s Venturer Award, and the **Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. Our youth and Scouters have also been recognized through prestigious national honours and commemorative awards, including the **Medal of the Maple* and the *King Charles III Coronation Medal*, in addition to numerous Scouts Canada service, leadership, and appreciation awards.

The impact of our group extends far beyond our weekly meetings. Many former and current youth members and Scouters have gone on to serve in leadership roles at the Area, Council, Greater Toronto Area, Provincial, and National levels within Scouts Canada. They have contributed to program development, training, governance, major events, Jamborees, and youth leadership initiatives that benefit thousands of Scouts across Canada.

Service to community is at the heart of what we do. Our members actively participate in local, national, and global initiatives that promote responsible citizenship and community engagement. Youth regularly contribute to food drives, environmental stewardship projects, fundraising campaigns, community outreach initiatives, and activities aligned with the *United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)*. Through these experiences, Scouts learn the importance of compassion, stewardship, leadership, and making a positive difference in the world around them.

What makes the 163rd IIT Scouts Group special is our commitment to *youth-led Scouting*. Youth are encouraged to plan activities, lead teams, organize events, mentor younger members, and take increasing responsibility as they progress through the program. Supported by dedicated volunteers and experienced Scouters, our members develop practical skills and leadership abilities that prepare them for success in their future studies, careers, and communities.

Whether paddling across the lakes of Haliburton, camping under the stars, serving the community, participating in Jamborees, earning top awards, or representing Scouting on the national and international stage, our youth continue to embody the values of leadership, service, adventure, citizenship, and faith.
