It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear beloved brother Abdel Raouf Maarouf, of Scarborough, Ontario. Br. Abdel Raouf was loved by many for his humility, his tranquil nature and spirituality and his desire for community unity.
He was the husband of Sr. Laila Maarouf, a community leader, teacher and inspiration for many in the Muslim community over the past 50 years. Sr. Laila was a pioneer and the first head teacher of the IIT Academy; and an Arabic and Quran instructor for many years.
Br. Abdel Raouf was the father of Amira, Mostafa, Salwa, Tahir and Moneer; Grandfather of Maryam, Ibraheem and Aya.
Janaazah for Br. Abdel Raouf will be held tomorrow, Sunday January 24 at 11:30 am followed by burial. Janaazah and burial are limited to relatives only due to the current restrictions. Please make a special Du’a for him.
We pray that Allah forgive him his sins and mistakes, multiply his good deeds, make his illness an expiation for him and grant him a most lofty place in Jannatul Firdaws.
We ask Allah to grant Sr. Laila, their children and relatives patience and comfort at this time of grief.
