We are pleased to welcome Dr. Shaffieq Chace to IIT as our guest Khateeb.

Imam Dr. Shaffieq Chace is a prominent religious leader, interfaith advocate, and community figure based in New York’s Westchester County. He serves as a spiritual leader and Imam at the Westchester Muslim Center located in Mount Vernon, and previously served at the Islamic Center of New Rochelle. Key highlights of his community and interfaith involvement include:

Civic and Interfaith Leadership: He is a frequent speaker at Westchester County’s annual interfaith ceremonies, providing opening prayers, blessings, and lectures alongside local rabbis, priests, and Hindu leaders.

Combating Hate and Extremism: Dr. Chace has been a vocal community advocate for combating bias and extremism, working with the Westchester County Human Rights Commission and Jewish councils to foster unity.

9/11 Memorials: He regularly leads prayers and interfaith reflections at Westchester County’s official September 11 remembrance ceremonies at the Kensico Dam Plaza.

Public Outreach: He has partnered with county officials—such as hosting discussions on Ramadan and community unity with former County Executive George Latimer—and has also taken part in legal, educational, and civic outreach programs at Pace University.
