Muslim Foster Care Information Session: Feb. 9, 1:30 – 3:30 pm

Mercy Mission FosterLink, in collaboration with Islamic Institute of Toronto and Children’s Aid Society of Toronto, will be delivering this foster caregiving information seminar.

The lack of enough foster care homes in Ontario is an ongoing problem, particularly in minority communities including the Muslim community. A child or youth may come into the care of Children’s Aid Society (CAS) for a number of reasons including family breakdown, abuse, illness or neglect. CAS in Toronto prefers to place children in homes with similar cultural backgrounds. When eligible Muslim families decide to become foster caregivers, there is a better chance a Muslim child or youth in the care of CAS will be matched with a Muslim caregiver. If you have been blessed with a stable family, a loving home and a spare bedroom, please consider attending this important information session.

Agenda: Introductory remarks | What is foster caregiving and how to apply? | Real life stories from a foster caregiver | Questions & Answers
