الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّـهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
(Who, when disaster strikes them, say, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.”)

It is with great and profound sadness that I inform you of the passing of Sr. Kaniz Raheem.

Sr. Kaniz passed away peacefully at home on Wed Aug 18 surrounded by her loved ones. She was 84 years old, originally from Georgetown, Guyana.

Wife of the late Abdul Raheem
Mother of Adil, Khalid (IIT Arabic teacher and IIT ball hockey league founder), Reyaz and Salma.
Grandmother of Gabrielle, Mikael, Reza, Nakiyyah and Idrees.
Great-grandmother of Owen
Aunt of Tauqir Yasin, Naz and Roshan Ali and Shakeel Khan. Great-aunt of Haseeb Ali.
